Jayakrishna-ji is a spiritual master and the founder of Navayuga.
At the age of 33, a decisive mystical experience completely overturned the points of reference through which he had understood his existence until then. It would take several years for him to grasp its full significance and then to accept what it implied for his own life.
A long journey then began, leading him from understanding to acceptance, and then through several years of initiatory preparation in India, Nepal and Tibet, before the time finally came to return to France and begin teaching.
A REVELATION
understanding why to remain
After this experience, one question remained difficult to understand for a long time: why still be here? Why return to human existence when what had just been lived seemed to have made so many things that once appeared essential seem insignificant?
It took time to understand that this return was not something to be lived for himself alone, and longer still to accept what it implied.
Gradually, this understanding opened the way to what would follow.
YEARS OF INITIATION
being prepared for what must follow
The following years took Jayakrishna-ji to India, Nepal and Tibet.
His path began notably within Tibetan Buddhism. He spent several months in monasteries at the foot of the Himalayas, sharing their rhythm of life and deepening his practice before his path gradually led him towards the traditions of India and, finally, to meeting his master.
Several years of journeys and pilgrimages to many sacred places then began. Jayakrishna-ji received teachings, blessings and initiations there, some within a traditional framework, others through mystical experiences and on subtler planes.
These years were not a search for a teaching that he could then bring back to France. They were a period of initiation and preparation, during which his path gradually took shape.
Then came the very clear sense that this period had reached its end.
THE TIME TO RETURN
renouncing renunciation to return to the world
At that point, however, Jayakrishna-ji had found profound simplicity in monastic and itinerant life.
With no fixed home, living like a wandering monk between ashrams, monasteries and sacred places, he had gradually found in renunciation, practice and silence a peace that he had no desire to leave.
Returning to France therefore did not initially appear attractive. On the contrary, it meant renouncing that very form of renunciation: returning to the world, taking a place among others again, and accepting that a life turned almost entirely towards inwardness must now make room for teaching and sharing what had been received.
Little by little, however, the direction became clear. The time of initiatory journeys was over. Another stage had to begin.
NAVAYUGA
establish a place, practise, teach
With the return to France, its purpose also became clearer.
Jayakrishna-ji understood that he needed to establish a place where he could continue his ascetic practices, install a Śiva liṅga and a Śrī Yantra, and thus give stable form to what had been prepared during the preceding years.
From this impulse arose Navayuga, the ashram and the Dhyāna Pīṭha.
Teaching then naturally took its place within this framework when its time came: satsangs, teachings, practice, life at the ashram and, today, Espace Navayuga.
Jayakrishna-ji also speaks English. Teachings and individual spiritual guidance can therefore be offered in English when appropriate.
